Monkey Lyly Was Disappointed Because She Fell Asleep and Didn’t Wake Up in Time to See the Sunrise

Monkey Lyly had been eagerly looking forward to her special adventure with her mother. They had planned to camp out under the stars and wake up early to watch the sunrise from the top of the hill. Lyly had heard so much about how beautiful the golden rays looked as they crept over the treetops and painted the sky in hues of pink and orange. She couldn’t wait to see it for herself!

The night was filled with joy as Lyly and her mother roasted sweet potatoes over the campfire, told funny stories, and gazed up at the sparkling stars. Lyly felt so happy and full of excitement that she could hardly fall asleep. But eventually, her eyes grew heavy, and she drifted off to sleep, her tiny arms wrapped around her mother.

“Wake me up before the sun rises, Mom,” Lyly murmured sleepily before falling into a deep slumber.

Morning came with the soft chirping of birds and the gentle rustling of leaves. But by the time Lyly stirred awake and opened her eyes, the sky was already bright, and the sun was high above the horizon.

“No! I missed it!” Lyly cried, her little face crumpling with disappointment. “I wanted to see the sunrise, but I slept too long.”

Her mother smiled gently and patted Lyly’s head. “It’s okay, Lyly. The sunrise will be here again tomorrow and the day after. You’ll have plenty of chances to see it.”

“But I wanted to see it today,” Lyly pouted, her eyes glistening with tears.

Seeing her sadness, her mother hugged her warmly. “How about we stay another night and try again tomorrow morning?”

Lyly’s face lit up with excitement. “Really, Mom? You mean it?”

“Of course! As long as you wake up early this time,” her mother chuckled.

Lyly grinned from ear to ear, her disappointment quickly melting away into joy and anticipation.
