Monkey Lyly couldn’t believe it because the kittens were adopted and then…

Monkey Lyly had grown quite attached to the tiny kittens that had been staying in her home. From the very first day they arrived, fragile and meowing for comfort, she had watched over them with curious eyes. She often sat nearby as they were fed, sometimes reaching out gently as if to check that they were safe. In her own playful way, Lyly had become part of their little family.

So, when the day came that the kittens were adopted, Lyly couldn’t believe it. She peeked from the doorway, watching as the kind families who had come to take them home carefully held the tiny bundles of fur. The kittens purred softly, completely unaware that their lives were about to change forever. Lyly tilted her head, almost as if asking, “Wait… where are they going?”

At first, she sulked a little. The house felt strangely quiet without the kittens’ squeaks and tiny paws pattering across the floor. Lyly wandered around, sniffing at the spots where they used to play. It was as if she was searching for them, trying to understand why they weren’t there anymore.

But then something wonderful happened. Just a few days later, updates and pictures began arriving from the kittens’ new homes. Lyly’s family showed her the photos—kittens snuggled in warm beds, being cuddled by children, or tumbling around in their new play spaces. Lyly’s eyes widened, and though she couldn’t speak, her excited squeaks seemed to say, “They’re happy!”

Slowly, she realized the truth: the kittens hadn’t disappeared—they had found loving families of their own. And while she might miss them, knowing they were safe and cherished filled her with a quiet joy.

From then on, Lyly carried herself a little differently, as though proud to have been part of their journey. She had watched them grow, and now they were thriving, loved beyond measure.

Monkey Lyly couldn’t believe it at first, but the ending turned out more beautiful than she ever imagined.
