Cubis the monkey is no ordinary little one—he’s clever, curious, and always thinking of new ways to get what he wants. And what Cubis wanted most today was yogurt, his absolute favorite treat.
The morning had been busy with playtime, climbing, and running around the house. By midday, Cubis’s tummy began to rumble. He glanced around the kitchen, opening cabinets and peeking into the fridge, but to his disappointment, there was no yogurt left. For a moment, he pouted, but then his bright eyes lit up with determination. If there wasn’t yogurt at home, he’d just have to go and get some!
Cubis grabbed his tiny coin pouch, which he kept safe for special occasions. He knew exactly where the little shop down the street was—it was the place where his mom sometimes bought him snacks. With a cheeky grin, Cubis put on his little cap and trotted off, coins jingling in his pouch.
At the shop, he stood on tiptoes, peering over the counter. The shopkeeper chuckled, recognizing the clever monkey. “Yogurt again, Cubis?” he asked kindly. Cubis nodded eagerly, pointing to the rows of creamy cups on the shelf. With his tiny hands, he carefully placed his coins on the counter, proud of himself for remembering how to pay.
The shopkeeper handed him the yogurt, and Cubis hugged it to his chest as if it were treasure. On the way home, he couldn’t resist opening it right away. He found a shady spot under a tree, sat down, and dug in happily with his spoon. Each bite made him hum with joy—it was cold, sweet, and just what his hungry belly needed.
When he returned home, Mom was waiting at the door. She couldn’t help but laugh when she saw Cubis’s yogurt-covered cheeks. “Smart little Cubis,” she said, giving him a hug, “you always find a way.”
That day, Cubis proved once again that when hunger strikes, nothing can stop a clever monkey from getting his favorite snack!
