Chooch has always been the big star of the house—the goofy, lovable pup who knows how to make everyone smile. But lately, he’s discovered a brand-new role: big brother. Ever since his baby sister arrived, the family has reminded him, “Chooch, you better keep your baby sister company!” And to everyone’s delight, he has taken that job very seriously.
At first, Chooch was curious. Who was this tiny human making little squeaks and cries? He sniffed her gently, his tail wagging as if he already understood she was someone very special. From that day on, he hardly left her side. When she napped in her crib, Chooch would curl up right beneath it, his watchful eyes making sure she was safe.
When the baby giggled for the first time, it was because Chooch wiggled close and gave her a sloppy kiss. Her laughter filled the room, and Chooch proudly puffed out his chest as if to say, “That’s my little sister!” Now, whenever she fusses or feels lonely, Chooch is the first one to rush over, gently resting his head by her side until she calms down.
Of course, his protective instincts sometimes make everyone laugh. If anyone new comes too close, Chooch gives them the serious “big brother” look, as though reminding them they must earn her trust. But then he softens with a wag of his tail, showing he’s just doing his job.
The sweetest moments come during playtime. As she learns to crawl, Chooch stays close, moving carefully so she can tug on his fur or rest her tiny hands on his back for support. It’s as if he knows his presence makes her braver.
Chooch may have started as just the family’s beloved dog, but now he’s something even greater—a loyal, gentle big brother. And no matter how much his little sister grows, one thing will never change: Chooch will always keep her company.
