Lala is usually the happiest little monkey in the house, always laughing, playing, and clinging to her mom. But today was different. Mom decided it was time for a little “beauty time” just for herself. She gathered her skincare, her favorite face mask, and sat down in front of the mirror, humming softly.
At first, Lala didn’t think much of it—until she realized that Mom wasn’t paying attention to her. Lala climbed up next to Mom, tugged on her sleeve, and made her signature pouty face. “What about me?” her big eyes seemed to say. But Mom gently smiled and told her, “This is Mommy’s time, sweet one. Just for a little while.”
The words stung more than Lala expected. She crossed her arms, puffed out her cheeks, and plopped down in the corner of the room with a dramatic sigh. Every time Mom applied cream or adjusted her hair, Lala let out an exaggerated groan, as if to say, “How could you enjoy this without me?”
Even though she tried her best to stay mad, she couldn’t help sneaking little glances. Mom looked so lovely with her glowing skin and relaxed smile. Deep down, Lala admired her—but oh, how she wished she could be included!
When Mom finally noticed her sulking little monkey sitting all alone, she laughed softly and called her over. “Alright, Lala. Come here. You can join Mommy’s beauty time.” Lala’s frown instantly disappeared as she scampered over. Mom dabbed a tiny bit of lotion on her cheeks, brushed her fur gently, and even gave her a little flower clip.
Lala looked in the mirror, eyes sparkling with joy. She wasn’t just included—she was beautiful too! Her sulking was forgotten, replaced by giggles and cuddles as she admired herself alongside Mom.
And from that day on, beauty time was no longer just for Mom—it became their special time together.
