The morning started off like any other—Cubis, the mischievous baby monkey, was bouncing around the house while Dad was busy sorting through his wallet. Dad had just taken out a crisp $100 bill to tuck safely away when, in the blink of an eye, Cubis’s curious little hands reached out and—snatch! The bill was gone.
“Cubis!” Dad shouted, realizing immediately what had happened. But Cubis was already racing across the room, the $100 flapping like a flag in his tiny grip. His cheeky giggles echoed through the house as Dad chased after him.
To Cubis, it was all a game. He climbed onto the couch, leapt to the table, and even darted under the bed with his prize. Every time Dad got close, Cubis squealed and darted away again, holding the bill tightly. To him, the green paper wasn’t money—it was the perfect new toy.
Finally, Dad cornered Cubis in the kitchen. But just as he reached out, Cubis stuffed the $100 into his mouth! Dad froze. “Don’t you dare eat that!” he exclaimed. Luckily, Cubis wasn’t planning to chew—it was just another part of his naughty trick. With a dramatic spit, the bill flew out, slightly slobbery but safe.
Dad sighed in relief, wiping it clean. “Cubis, this isn’t a toy. That’s very important!” But Cubis only tilted his head innocently, blinking with big, round eyes, as if to say, Who, me?
Mom walked in just then, laughing at the chaos. “Looks like someone wanted to buy his own bananas,” she teased. Dad couldn’t help but chuckle, though he gave Cubis a stern look.
In the end, Cubis wasn’t in too much trouble—after all, it was hard to stay mad at such a playful little monkey. But Dad learned one thing for sure: if you have $100, don’t leave it where Cubis can see it!
