The morning sun streamed into the bedroom as Monkey Lyly hopped out of bed with excitement. Today, she was going out with her mother, and she wanted to look absolutely perfect. But there was just one tiny problem—Lyly couldn’t decide what to wear!
She opened her little wardrobe and stared at the colorful row of dresses. “Hmm… this one? No, too plain. That one? Too sparkly. Maybe this one? Oh, but what if it doesn’t match my shoes?” she muttered to herself, pulling out dress after dress and tossing them onto the bed.
Her mother peeked into the room, amused by the growing mountain of clothes. “Lyly, are you ready yet?” she asked with a smile.
“Almost, Mama! I just need to find the perfect dress!” Lyly replied, holding up a bright yellow one. “This is nice… but is it too cheerful?”
She tried on a red polka-dot dress, spinning in front of the mirror. Then a pink floral one, then a blue one with frilly sleeves. Each time, she made a funny face and shook her head. “Nope. Not this one either!”
Her mother laughed softly and walked over to help. “How about we pick one together?” she suggested. Lyly nodded eagerly.
After a few moments of searching, they found it—a lovely lavender dress with a soft ribbon at the waist. It was comfortable, pretty, and just right for a sunny outing. Lyly slipped it on and twirled, her eyes sparkling. “Yes! This is the one!” she declared proudly.
Before leaving, she quickly picked matching shoes and a tiny purse. Her mother adjusted the ribbon and gave her a kiss on the forehead. “You look beautiful, my little monkey,” she said warmly.
As they stepped out the door, Lyly felt happy and confident. The dress wasn’t just pretty—it made her feel special, and she couldn’t wait to spend the day with her mother.
And somewhere back home, her bed was still buried under a colorful pile of “not perfect” dresses, waiting for their turn another day.
