The house was unusually quiet the morning the newborn baby arrived home. Mom carefully laid the tiny bundle into a soft cradle, reminding everyone to be gentle and calm. CUTIS and the baby monkey stood nearby, their eyes wide with curiosity. They had waited so long to meet the new family member, and now they were bursting with excitement. But their good intentions soon turned into a series of confusing surprises.
At first, CUTIS decided the baby might be hungry, just like Baby Monkey often was. Without asking, he brought over a bottle and tried to help feed the newborn, even though Mom had already prepared everything. At the same time, Baby Monkey gently tried to tuck a blanket around the baby’s face, thinking she was making the baby cozy. Next, the two little helpers decided the baby might be bored. CUTIS began singing loudly, using a toy microphone, while Baby Monkey shook her rattles with great enthusiasm. The sudden noise startled the newborn, who began to cry. Mom quickly scooped the baby up, rocking and soothing, while CUTIS and Baby Monkey stared in shock, not understanding what they had done wrong.
Not wanting to give up, they tried another idea. CUTIS brought his favorite toy car and gently rolled it beside the cradle, while Baby Monkey attempted to show the baby her favorite dance moves. Their clumsy performance made Mom pause in confusion, then smile. Even though their actions weren’t perfect, their hearts were full of love.
Finally, Mom sat them down and explained softly that newborn babies need quiet, gentle care. CUTIS nodded seriously, and Baby Monkey listened closely, hugging her stuffed toy. They promised to be calmer and more patient.
From that moment on, they became careful little guardians. They whispered instead of shouted, walked softly, and helped in small ways. Though their earlier actions left Mom puzzled, she knew they were simply trying to show affection.
