Cubis the monkey was always curious, but that day his curiosity led him straight into big trouble. Early in the morning, Cubis noticed Dad was busy cleaning the yard and talking on the phone. To Cubis, this felt like the perfect opportunity. He wanted to go outside the gate to explore the road, the trees, and all the exciting sounds beyond the fence. Dad had told him many times it was not safe, but Cubis thought, just a little adventure won’t hurt.
Quietly, Cubis hid behind the big water jars near the house. He covered his mouth to stop himself from giggling as Dad walked past, calling his name. When Dad didn’t see him, Cubis tiptoed to the gate and slipped out. Freedom felt amazing. Cubis ran around, touching leaves, chasing butterflies, and climbing a small tree. He was having the best time of his life and completely forgot about Dad’s rules.
But fun doesn’t last forever. When Cubis tried to climb higher, he slipped and landed in a muddy puddle. His fur was dirty, his hands were shaking, and suddenly the world felt much scarier than before. Loud motorbikes passed by, and strange dogs barked nearby. Cubis’s heart raced. That was when he realized how dangerous it was to go out alone.
Meanwhile, Dad had discovered Cubis was missing. His calm face quickly turned into worry. He searched everywhere, calling Cubis’s name louder and louder. When Dad finally spotted a small, muddy monkey sitting by the road, he ran over and scooped Cubis into his arms. Cubis clung tightly to Dad’s shirt, trembling and ashamed.
Back at home, Cubis really got into trouble. Dad cleaned him up and gently scolded him, explaining why hiding and sneaking out was so dangerous. Cubis lowered his head, eyes full of regret. He hugged Dad tightly and gave a soft, apologetic squeak.
That day, Cubis learned an important lesson. Adventures are fun, but safety and family come first. From then on, whenever Cubis wanted to go out, he made sure Dad was right beside him, because no adventure was worth losing the ones who care the most.
