The morning sun peeked through the window, and little monkey Cubis was already wide awake, full of excitement. Today wasn’t just any day—it was Father’s Day! Cubis had been secretly planning something special for his dad all week, and he could hardly wait to surprise him.
As soon as Dad went out to feed the animals, Cubis tiptoed around the house, gathering everything he needed. He found some colorful paper, shiny leaves, and a few flowers from the garden. With great concentration, he sat at the table, sticking and arranging them into a small handmade card. In the middle, he carefully drew a big heart and scribbled, “I love you, Dad!” in his wobbly handwriting. It wasn’t perfect, but it was filled with love.
Next, Cubis thought about adding a “real” gift. He looked around the yard until he spotted Dad’s favorite fruit—ripe bananas hanging high in the tree! With determination, Cubis climbed up, stretching his little arms as far as he could. He managed to pick a perfect bunch, even though he almost slipped once. “This will make Dad smile for sure!” he said proudly.
When Dad returned, he found Cubis standing in the living room, trying to hide something behind his back. “What’s going on, little one?” Dad asked, smiling. Cubis squealed with excitement and jumped forward, holding out the gift. “Happy Father’s Day, Dad!” he shouted, presenting the card and the bananas.
Dad was touched beyond words. He picked up Cubis, hugging him tightly. “You made this for me? Oh, Cubis, this is the best gift I’ve ever received!” he said, his voice full of emotion. Cubis giggled and hugged him back, feeling proud and happy.
Later that day, the two shared the bananas together under the shade of a tree. Dad smiled, saying, “You know, Cubis, being your dad is the greatest gift of all.” Cubis looked up with a grin, his heart full of love.
