Nighttime at the monkey house is usually calm and peaceful. But when Cubis and Luk share the same room, it’s a different story altogether! Mom had just turned off the lights, expecting both little monkeys to settle down and drift into sleep. Cubis wrapped himself in his blanket, ready for a cozy night’s rest. But Luk… well, Luk had other plans!
Instead of sleeping, Luk began making funny faces at Cubis from across the bed. Every time Cubis tried to close his eyes, Luk would reach over and tug at his blanket, or poke him gently to see if he was still awake. At first, Cubis tried to ignore him, but Luk’s silly giggles and wiggly tail made it impossible!
“Luk, stop it! I’m sleepy!” Cubis grumbled, rolling over and covering his face with his hands. But Luk only giggled harder, pretending to snore loudly or making little monkey noises that echoed through the room. Mom peeked in and couldn’t help but laugh at the sight—Cubis sitting up with messy fur and sleepy eyes, while Luk bounced around like it was playtime.
Finally, Cubis had enough. He crossed his arms, gave Luk his best “serious face,” and refused to move. Luk froze for a moment… then crawled quietly next to Cubis, resting his head on his friend’s arm. The room grew silent, and for a few sweet minutes, it seemed like both had finally fallen asleep.
But just when Mom thought peace had returned, a tiny giggle slipped out from under the blanket. Luk had started tickling Cubis again! This time, Cubis couldn’t hold back his laughter either. Soon both monkeys were rolling around, giggling uncontrollably, their tiredness forgotten.
Mom sighed with a smile. “These two will never grow tired of each other,” she whispered. And though Cubis didn’t get much sleep that night, his heart was full—because life with Luk was never boring, just filled with love and laughter.
