It was a bright, cheerful morning at the monkey house. Luk was busy sweeping the floor while Cubis sat nearby, pretending to help—but his mind was clearly somewhere else. The smell of freshly brewed coffee drifted through the air from the nearby café, and Cubis’s eyes lit up instantly. He loved coffee more than anything, but Mom had told him, “No more coffee today!” Still, Cubis wasn’t about to give up that easily.
As Luk turned his back to grab the broom, Cubis tiptoed quietly toward the door. He glanced around like a little spy—left, right, coast clear! With a mischievous grin, he darted off, clutching his tiny coin pouch. The adventure for coffee had begun!
Cubis sneaked through the yard, hopping over puddles and hiding behind a bush whenever someone passed by. When he finally reached the café, he stood proudly on his tiptoes at the counter, giving his biggest smile to the barista. Everyone laughed as the tiny monkey pointed at the coffee machine and chattered excitedly. A few minutes later, Cubis was sipping his little cup of warm coffee, eyes sparkling with joy.
Meanwhile, Luk had finished cleaning and realized—Cubis was gone! “Cubis?!” he called, searching everywhere. When he spotted the café sign in the distance, he sighed, already guessing what had happened. Moments later, Luk appeared at the café door, arms crossed. Cubis froze mid-sip, his guilty eyes wide like a caught child.
“Cubis! You snuck off again, didn’t you?” Luk said, trying to sound serious but failing to hide his smile. Cubis sheepishly offered Luk a sip of coffee, hoping it would soften him up. Luk couldn’t help laughing.
They ended up sharing the cup together, giggling under the café’s umbrella as the breeze rustled through the leaves. It turned into one of their funniest and sweetest mornings—because even when Cubis got a little naughty, his love for coffee (and for Luk) always led to heartwarming moments.
