The sun was setting softly outside the kitchen window when Dad called out, “Lala, dinner time!” Lala, the curious little monkey, hurried in with a bright smile and happy footsteps. She loved dinner, especially when Dad cooked something special just for the two of them.
Tonight, Dad had prepared a healthy meal that he said would be great for their tummies. On the table were colorful vegetables, steamed broccoli, sweet carrots, spinach salad, and a bowl of warm, comforting soup made with pumpkin and ginger. There was also yogurt with fresh fruit waiting for dessert.
Lala tilted her head, fascinated by all the bright colors. “Why is dinner so green today?” she asked, poking the broccoli gently.
Dad chuckled and sat down beside her. “Because green foods help our bellies work better. They keep our digestive system strong and happy.” He patted his stomach playfully, and Lala giggled.
She took a little bite of carrot—crunchy and sweet. “Mmm! This is yummy!” she cheered.
Dad nodded proudly. “And the pumpkin soup will help us feel warm and full without making our stomachs tired. Plus, yogurt has friendly bacteria that help our tummy do its job.”
Lala’s eyes widened. “Friendly… bacteria? Like tiny helpers?” she asked.
“Exactly!” Dad smiled.
Feeling excited to take care of her tiny helpers, Lala grabbed her spoon and tasted the soup. Her eyes sparkled. “It tastes like sunshine!”
Dad laughed. “That’s the ginger. It helps us digest food and keeps our bodies comfortable.”
Together, they enjoyed every bite of their healthy dinner. Lala noticed how good it felt—no heavy tummy, just warm comfort and energy. When they finally reached dessert, the sweet fruit mixed with creamy yogurt made Lala dance in her seat.
After finishing, she leaned back happily. “Dad, can we eat more happy-tummy dinners like this?”
Dad smiled and hugged her gently. “Of course, sweetheart. A healthy stomach makes a happy monkey.”
Lala clapped her hands. She had learned something important: healthy foods aren’t just good—they can be delicious too!
Tonight, their hearts and bellies were full—and the tiny helpers inside were celebrating too. 🥦💚
