It was a sunny Saturday morning when Dad Monkey woke up feeling a little under the weather. His throat was scratchy, his nose was runny, and every time he tried to speak, his voice came out like a tiny croak. He wrapped himself in a soft blanket and settled onto the couch with a sniffle.
Right away, Cutis and Baby Monkey noticed something was wrong. Their usually energetic dad wasn’t swinging around or making silly jokes. Instead, he just sat quietly with droopy eyes. They exchanged a determined glance—there was no way they were letting Dad stay sick on their watch!
Cutis, being the older and wiser brother, took charge of “Operation: Take Care of Dad.” First, he brought a big cup of warm banana tea—Dad’s favorite. It was a little too full and spilled a bit on the way, but the effort made Dad smile. Baby Monkey wanted to help too, so he climbed onto the couch and gently patted Dad’s head, as if he were checking the temperature himself. His touch was soft and filled with love.
Then, Cutis grabbed a basket and filled it with everything Dad might need—a tissue box, honey candies, a warm scarf, and even Dad’s lucky banana toy. Baby Monkey, meanwhile, tried to make Dad laugh. He imitated a superhero pose and shouted, “Banana Man to the rescue!” Even sick, Dad burst into giggles.
But the most unbelievable special thing happened next. Cutis brought out Dad’s favorite music box, and Baby Monkey snuggled into Dad’s arms. Together, they performed a sweet little “healing dance” they invented on the spot. They wiggled, twisted, jumped gently, and cheered, “Feel better, Dad!” The living room was filled with laughter, warmth, and silly moves only a loving family could understand.
Dad’s eyes sparkled with tears—not from his cold, but from pure happiness. “I feel better already,” he whispered, hugging both monkeys close.
They stayed like that all day—watching cartoons, sharing snacks, and giving Dad endless cuddles.
Maybe the tea helped… maybe the dance worked…
But most likely, it was the love of two adorable monkeys that healed him faster than any medicine ever could.
