When Mom told little Lala that she had to go out for a while, Lala’s big round eyes blinked with determination. “Don’t worry, Mom! I’ll take care of everything!” she said proudly, her tiny hands resting on her hips like a grown-up. Mom smiled, kissed her on the forehead, and reminded her, “Be careful, my sweet girl. Keep the house tidy, and don’t forget to eat your lunch!”
As soon as the door closed, Lala looked around the house—it suddenly felt so quiet. She took a deep breath and decided to make Mom proud. She started by cleaning her toys, neatly arranging them into their boxes. Then she grabbed a little towel and began dusting the table, humming her favorite song. Even though the towel was almost bigger than her, Lala didn’t give up!
Next, she went to the kitchen and found the dishes from breakfast. “I can do this,” she whispered. Carefully, she washed each plate, rinsed them, and placed them on the drying rack just like Mom always did. When one spoon slipped and made a clang, she giggled. “Oops! But that’s okay, I’m still learning.”
After cleaning, she swept the floor—though the broom was taller than her, she managed to make the room sparkle. Then, she fixed her little bed and even remembered to feed her pet fish, sprinkling the food gently into the water.
When Mom finally returned, she was astonished. The house was spotless, and Lala was sitting proudly on the couch, sipping her milk. “Oh my goodness, Lala!” Mom exclaimed. “You did all this by yourself?”
Lala nodded, her face glowing with pride. “Yes, Mom! I cleaned everything and took care of myself, just like you taught me!”
Mom hugged her tightly and said, “You’re growing up so fast, my little helper!” From that day on, Lala wasn’t just the baby of the house—she was Mom’s little homemaker too.
