Cubis the monkey was always a curious little fellow, especially when it came to anything found in the kitchen. One afternoon, while the family prepared lunch, Cubis wandered onto the table, eyes sparkling with excitement at all the colorful bottles and jars. Among them stood a tall, bright red bottle of chili sauce—something he had never seen before. The fiery color intrigued him, and without thinking, he wrapped his little fingers around it.
At first, Cubis simply admire it, turning it slowly to examine the strange markings and labels. But when the bottle wobbled in his hands, his eyes widened with sudden fear. He remembered the time he’d spilled a drink and got scolded for making a mess. This bottle looked serious—much more dangerous than juice. What if it spilled everywhere? Worse, what if the bright red sauce stained his fur?
With shaky hands, Cubis held the bottle tightly, frozen in place. He sat perfectly still, afraid that even the slightest movement would cause disaster. His lips pressed together, and his tail curled anxiously around the chair. The family noticed his unusual silence and turned to find him sitting like a statue, clutching the chili sauce with the concentration of a scientist defusing a bomb.
“Cubis, put it down slowly!” someone called gently. But Cubis dared not move. Beads of worry formed in his eyes. He imagined the sauce exploding everywhere—on the table, the floor, even his face. Finally, one of the caretakers approached quietly, extending a calm hand. Very carefully, they guided the bottle out of Cubis’s grip.
The moment it left his hands, Cubis let out a deep, dramatic sigh of relief. His shoulders dropped, and he wiped his forehead as if he had just survived a heroic mission. Everyone burst into laughter, amused by how serious he had been.
To comfort him, they offered a banana, which he accepted proudly—after all, heroes deserve a reward. From that day on, Cubis kept a safe distance from anything red and spicy. Lesson learned: bananas are sweet, but chili sauce is nothing to monkey around with!
