Everything this woman said in the DM was wrong. CiCi is a little food aggressive and is very reactive to other dogs. That’s why I haven’t adopted a buddy for her…

Social media is a wild place. For every sweet message I get from someone who genuinely cares about CiCi, there’s always that one random DM that makes me shake my head. Recently, a woman messaged me insisting I was “depriving” CiCi of happiness because she doesn’t have another dog to play with at home. According to her, CiCi was “lonely and sad” and that I was being “selfish” by not adopting her a buddy.

Here’s the thing — everything she said was completely wrong. CiCi isn’t lonely, and she’s definitely not deprived. She’s spoiled, loved, and has a full life. What that person didn’t understand is that CiCi has her own unique personality. She’s a little food aggressive and can be very reactive around other dogs. That doesn’t make her bad, it just makes her CiCi. She’s comfortable in her own space, and bringing in another dog could cause her a lot of stress. I know my girl better than anyone else, and my priority will always be her safety, happiness, and well-being.

This is the part of social media that can be tough. Ninety-nine percent of the messages I receive are thoughtful, kind, and supportive — people cheering CiCi on, sharing their own pet stories, or just spreading love. But no matter what you do, there will always be a small percentage of miserable people who try to bring you down with negativity. I’ve learned not to let them steal my joy.

Honestly, I think I might start a little series called “Tales from the DM” once a week. Some of these messages are too wild not to share, and if nothing else, it might give us all a good laugh. Because at the end of the day, CiCi’s happiness speaks louder than any stranger’s assumptions.

😂 Would you guys be down for that?
