Sundays have a special kind of magic. They aren’t about rushing or checking off to-do lists—they’re about slowing down, taking a breath, and simply enjoying the little things that make life sweet. For CiCi, Sunday is her favorite day because it means extra cuddles, slower walks, and plenty of time to just lounge around without a care in the world.
This past Sunday was no exception. The morning started with a gentle stretch and a big yawn, followed by her favorite routine: a belly rub while still half-asleep. Instead of hurrying out the door, Dad lingered, sipping coffee while scratching behind her ears. CiCi leaned into his hand, eyes closing in pure contentment, as if to say, “Yes, this is exactly what Sundays are made for.”
Later, they headed outside, but only for a short time. The sun was bright and the air warm, and though CiCi is tough enough to handle it, she still gave a look that clearly said, “I’d rather be in the AC, thank you very much.” Dad laughed, gave her a pat on the head, and agreed—it was definitely an inside kind of day.
Back indoors, CiCi claimed her spot on the couch, sprawled out like the queen she is. A little nap here, a stretch there, and the occasional glance to make sure Dad was still nearby. Peace, comfort, and love filled the day.
That’s the beauty of Sundays: they remind us that it’s okay to pause. Life doesn’t always have to be about running errands or chasing schedules. Sometimes the most important thing you can do is relax, soak in the quiet, and enjoy being present with those you love—whether that’s people or pets.
For CiCi, Sunday wasn’t about going anywhere or doing anything fancy. It was about togetherness, comfort, and the joy of slowing down. And really, isn’t that what we all need a little more of?
