Cubis asked Dad to take her to a coffee shop to watch the sunset!

Cubis had been talking about it all week—the idea of sitting in a cozy little coffee shop with her dad, sipping something warm, and watching the sunset through big glass windows. To her, it wasn’t just about the drinks or the view; it was about spending that peaceful moment together. So when Saturday finally came, she tugged on Dad’s sleeve and said with her sweetest voice, “Can we go now? The sun’s gonna set soon!”

Dad chuckled at her excitement, grabbed his keys, and off they went. The coffee shop wasn’t far, just a small corner place with soft lights, comfy chairs, and the smell of freshly brewed coffee in the air. Cubis ordered a hot chocolate with extra whipped cream, while Dad went for his usual latte. They picked a table right by the window, the perfect spot to see the sky change colors.

As the golden hour began, Cubis pressed her little face against the glass, her eyes wide with wonder. The sky was painted in shades of orange, pink, and purple, slowly melting together like a masterpiece. “It looks like cotton candy,” she whispered, making Dad smile. He couldn’t help but take a picture—not just of the sky, but of Cubis’s expression. She looked so full of joy and curiosity, and in that moment, nothing else mattered.

They talked about everything and nothing—about school, about funny memories, about what shapes the clouds looked like. Cubis licked the whipped cream from her cup and laughed when it left a little mustache on her face, which made Dad laugh even harder.

By the time the sun slipped below the horizon, the world outside had quieted down. Cubis leaned her head on Dad’s arm and sighed happily. “Thanks, Dad. This was perfect,” she said softly.

And it really was. A simple evening at a coffee shop, but one filled with laughter, love, and a sunset they would both remember.
