Cubis pretends to be sick, making Dad worried!

Cubis, the cheeky little monkey, has always been full of clever tricks. One morning, instead of bouncing around like usual, he curled up in a corner with the saddest face he could make. His big eyes drooped, and he let out a tiny whimper. Dad noticed immediately and rushed over, panic written all over his face.

“Cubis, what’s wrong? Are you sick?” Dad asked, gently touching his forehead as if checking for a fever. Cubis groaned dramatically, clutching his tummy like he was in terrible pain. Dad’s heart sank. He quickly fetched water, soft blankets, and even started preparing fruit soup to make him feel better.

But what Dad didn’t know was that Cubis wasn’t sick at all—he was pretending! The little trickster had realized that acting sick meant extra cuddles, attention, and maybe even some of his favorite snacks. As Dad fussed over him, Cubis peeked out from under the blanket with a sly grin before quickly putting his “sick face” back on.

Dad paced the room, worrying out loud about calling the vet. Just then, he turned around and caught Cubis nibbling happily on a banana he had hidden under the covers. Dad froze, eyes wide in disbelief. Cubis, realizing he had been caught, tried to go back into his “weak” act, but it was too late—the evidence was all over his face and paws!

“Cubis!” Dad exclaimed, half angry, half relieved. “You little faker! You had me so worried!”

Instead of scolding him, Dad couldn’t help but laugh at how dramatic Cubis had been. The way he held his tummy and sighed like an actor on stage was just too funny. Dad scooped him up and gave him a playful shake. “Next time, Cubis, just ask for attention. You don’t need to scare me like that!”

Cubis chattered happily, clearly proud of his successful prank. Though Dad shook his head, deep down he was just glad his little monkey was healthy—and as mischievous as ever.
