Baby monkey Cubis may be tiny, but his personality is larger than life. Most of the time, he’s sweet, playful, and curious—clinging to Mom, swinging around the furniture, or nibbling happily on fruit. But if there’s one thing that never fails to bring out his dramatic side, it’s when a stranger walks through the door.
The moment he spots someone unfamiliar, Cubis transforms. His eyes widen, his fur bristles, and he lets out the loudest little squeaks, as if to warn everyone that danger has arrived. Sometimes he stomps his tiny feet on the ground, puffing up his chest like he’s the bravest protector in the world. Other times, he hides behind Mom’s shoulder, peeking out just enough to glare at the newcomer before darting back into safety.
One time, a family friend came to visit, carrying a bag of fruit. You’d think Cubis would be happy about the treats—but no! He puffed up, leapt onto the back of the couch, and started wagging his arms dramatically as if shooing the “intruder” away. His little face was so full of expression—half anger, half panic—that we couldn’t stop laughing. Even the friend, though startled at first, couldn’t help but burst out giggling at Cubis’s brave but silly display.
The funniest part is how quickly his “violent” reaction fades. After a few minutes, his curiosity always gets the better of him. He slowly inches closer, sniffing cautiously, pretending he’s still angry, but his eyes give him away. And before long, he’s sitting in the stranger’s lap, happily stealing pieces of fruit as if they’d been friends forever.
That’s Cubis in a nutshell—dramatic, stubborn, and endlessly entertaining. His over-the-top reactions may look fierce, but deep down, he’s just a baby who doesn’t like surprises. Watching him go from “defender of the house” to “fruit thief” within minutes never fails to make us laugh out loud.
With Cubis around, even a simple visit from a stranger turns into a comedy show worth remembering!
