Oh… So spicy! Monkey Lyly stubbornly ate the onion which made me laugh out loud.

Monkey Lyly has always been a curious little one, never missing a chance to explore new tastes and foods. Most of the time, she happily munches on sweet fruits—bananas, mangoes, and juicy watermelon are her favorites. But one afternoon, her curiosity took a very funny turn.

While I was preparing lunch in the kitchen, Lyly climbed up onto the counter, her eyes fixed on the vegetables I was chopping. She sniffed the carrots, poked at the tomatoes, and then, with a determined look, picked up a slice of raw onion. I laughed and shook my head, trying to warn her. “Lyly, that’s not what you think it is. It’s spicy!” But Lyly, being as stubborn as ever, wasn’t about to listen.

She held the onion proudly, almost like it was a trophy, and popped it straight into her mouth. The reaction was instant—and absolutely hilarious. Her little nose wrinkled, her eyes squinted, and she froze for a moment as the strong flavor hit her tongue. I thought she would spit it out right away, but no—Lyly was determined. She chewed slowly, shaking her head, making the funniest faces as her eyes watered.

I couldn’t stop laughing. The more she struggled, the more dramatic her expression became, until she finally swallowed and let out a dramatic sigh, smacking her lips like she had just conquered the spiciest challenge of her life.

Afterward, she glared at the onion slice on the cutting board as if it had betrayed her. But despite the tears in her eyes, Lyly still reached for another tiny piece, proving just how stubborn she could be. Of course, she made the same scrunched-up face again, and this time I laughed so hard my stomach hurt.

That silly little moment reminded me how much joy Lyly brings into everyday life. Even something as simple as an onion can turn into a comedy show with her around. One thing’s for sure—she may have won the onion battle, but the onion definitely won the war!
