What to Buy? Monkey Lyly Forgot What Her Mother Told Her and Bought the Wrong Thing!

Monkey Lyly was always excited when her mother gave her a task. She loved feeling responsible, especially when it involved shopping! One afternoon, her mother handed her a small list and some money. “Lyly, please go to the market and buy these things for dinner,” she said.

Lyly eagerly nodded and grabbed the list, determined to complete the task perfectly. However, as soon as she stepped out of the house, something distracted her—a butterfly fluttering past, a neighbor’s cat stretching lazily, and the smell of delicious food from a street vendor. By the time she reached the market, she had completely forgotten what was on the list!

“Oh no… What did Mom say to buy?” Lyly scratched her head, trying to remember. “Was it bananas? No… Maybe fish? Or was it rice?”

Instead of returning home to ask, Lyly decided to trust her instincts. She confidently picked up a bunch of bananas, some candy, and a bottle of orange juice, thinking, This must be right! Proud of herself, she walked back home with a big smile.

When she reached home, her mother opened the bag and gasped. “Lyly! What is this?”

Lyly blinked innocently. “The things you asked for!”

Her mother sighed, trying not to laugh. “I asked for vegetables, rice, and some fish for dinner, not candy and bananas!”

Lyly’s eyes widened. “Oops…” She scratched her head, feeling embarrassed. “I guess I got distracted.”

Her mother chuckled, shaking her head. “It’s okay, Lyly. Let’s go back together and get the right things.”

Holding her mother’s hand, Lyly felt relieved. Next time, she would focus more and maybe even write things down. Until then, she learned an important lesson—shopping wasn’t as easy as it seemed!
