Monkey Lyly is hungry but can’t wake up her mother and what happens next…

The early morning sun peeked through the curtains, painting soft streaks of gold across the room. Little Monkey Lyly sat on the edge of the bed, her round tummy growling loudly. She glanced over at her mother, who was still fast asleep after a long and tiring night. Lyly tilted her head, trying to decide what to do. She reached out her tiny hands to nudge her mother gently, whispering in the softest voice, “Mama… I’m hungry.” But Mama didn’t stir.

Lyly frowned, her big curious eyes scanning the room. If Mama was too tired to get up, maybe she could figure something out on her own. With determination in her little heart, she tiptoed off the bed and waddled toward the kitchen. Each step was an adventure, her tail swaying behind her as if cheering her on.

When she reached the counter, Lyly spotted a basket of bananas. Her eyes lit up with excitement—her favorite! But the bananas were much too high for her tiny hands to grab. Not one to give up, Lyly dragged a stool across the floor, the sound echoing through the quiet house. She climbed up carefully, wobbly but determined, and stretched as far as she could. Finally, with a triumphant squeal, she managed to pull down a single banana.

Lyly proudly peeled it, taking big, happy bites. The sweetness filled her mouth, and she giggled at her small victory. Just then, Mama woke up and walked into the kitchen, rubbing her eyes. She paused, seeing her little one sitting on the stool with a banana half-eaten in her hands and a mischievous grin on her face.

Mama couldn’t help but laugh. “Oh, Lyly, you clever girl,” she said, scooping her up into a warm embrace. “You were so hungry you became a little chef all by yourself!”

Lyly nestled into her mother’s arms, banana still clutched tightly. She was proud of her adventure, and Mama was proud too. It was a small moment, but one that showed just how much Lyly was growing—curious, brave, and always a little bit cheeky.
