Mom… Hurry up! Monkey Lyly was eager to go out to play in the fields as soon as the rain stopped.

The morning rain had drummed against the roof for hours, trapping little Monkey Lyly inside the house. She sat by the window, chin resting on her tiny hands, eyes wide as she watched the drops race each other down the glass. Each rumble of thunder made her flinch, but what she wanted most was for the storm to end so she could run through the open fields again.

Finally, the last drops faded, leaving the air fresh and cool, with the smell of wet grass drifting in. Lyly’s eyes sparkled with excitement. She jumped up, tugging at her mother’s hand, and chirped, “Mom… hurry up! Let’s go!” Her little tail twitched impatiently, her body wiggling with energy she could no longer hold in.

But her mother, calm as always, moved at her own pace, cleaning up after breakfast and making sure Lyly’s raincoat was ready. Lyly hopped from foot to foot, pacing around the doorway, her voice rising each time, “Mom… hurry up! The rain stopped already! The field is waiting for us!”

When at last her mom opened the door, Lyly dashed outside like an arrow. The field glistened under the soft sunlight, each blade of grass shimmering with leftover raindrops. Puddles sparkled like mirrors, and Lyly immediately splashed into them, laughing with pure delight. She ran between the tall grasses, stretching her arms wide as if trying to hug the whole world.

Her mother followed at a gentle pace, watching her little one’s joy with a warm smile. To Lyly, the world felt brand new after the rain—fresh, alive, and perfect for adventure. She picked flowers, chased butterflies, and rolled in the soft, damp earth without a care.

By the time the sun climbed higher, Lyly’s fur was messy, her feet muddy, but her heart full of happiness. She ran back to her mom, hugging her legs and giggling. Sometimes, all a child needs is a little patience from mom and a field after the rain.
