Nighttime in the house was usually peaceful. Mom would tuck everything in place, dim the lights, and settle down while Monkey Lyly curled up beside her. Lyly always slept deeply, often twitching her little hands as if she were dreaming of climbing trees or playing in the fields. But this particular night took a funny turn no one expected.
In the middle of her cozy sleep, Lyly shifted around with a tiny sigh. A moment later, she suddenly stirred, opening her eyes wide with surprise. Something didn’t feel right. She wriggled her body and realized—oh no!—she had pooped in her sleep.
At first, Lyly froze, looking confused and embarrassed. Then, without hesitation, she decided Mom had to fix this problem. Scooting closer, she tugged gently at the blanket with her tiny hands. When that didn’t work, she tapped Mom’s arm repeatedly and let out a sharp little squeak. Mom, half-asleep, groaned softly, but Lyly wasn’t giving up. She tugged harder and finally let out a loud chatter that made Mom sit up, startled.
“What is it, Lyly?” Mom mumbled, rubbing her eyes. Then the smell hit her, and she instantly understood. Lyly looked up at her with those wide, innocent eyes, as if saying, “Help me, Mom… I didn’t mean to!”
Though tired, Mom couldn’t help but laugh at the situation. She gently scooped Lyly up, cleaned her carefully, and comforted her. Lyly clung to her mom’s shoulder, relieved that everything was okay again.
Once cleaned and snuggled, Lyly gave a soft little sigh and drifted back to sleep, her trust in Mom stronger than ever. Mom, shaking her head with a smile, tucked them both back in. Accidents happen, but with love and patience, even the messiest moments turn into memories worth keeping.
And so, the night ended with peace restored—Mom a little more tired, Lyly a lot more cozy, and both of them wrapped in the kind of bond that can survive even the funniest midnight surprises. 🐒💤❤️
