Cici’s glow up

The day we went back to save CiCi is a moment I will never forget. She was lying on the grass, her white and black coat dulled by dirt, and her ribs showing clearly with every shallow breath. Her eyes still held a spark of life, but her body told the story of hardship and neglect. She was just skin and bones, and I knew right then that she needed more than just food—she needed love, safety, and a chance to start over.

The first few days were all about survival. We gave her small, frequent meals so her body could adjust, and plenty of fresh water. At first, she was hesitant to trust, keeping her distance and watching us with wary eyes. But slowly, the walls she had built began to crumble. The first time she wagged her tail, it was small and uncertain, but to me, it felt like a victory.

Weeks turned into months, and CiCi began to change—not just physically, but in spirit. Her once bony frame filled out, her coat grew shinier, and her eyes shone brighter each day. She discovered the joy of running freely in the yard, chasing butterflies, and basking in the warm sun. Every playful bark and happy jump was proof that she was reclaiming her life.

The glow-up wasn’t just about her body—it was about her soul healing. She learned to trust again, leaning against us for comfort and greeting us with boundless excitement whenever we came home. She made friends with the other dogs, playing tug-of-war and curling up beside them for afternoon naps.

Looking at CiCi now, you’d never guess the struggles she had endured. She is strong, radiant, and full of love, with a heart that has forgiven the past and embraced the future. Saving CiCi changed her life, but it also changed ours. She reminded us that with patience, kindness, and dedication, even the most broken souls can find their light again.

CiCi’s glow-up isn’t just a transformation—it’s a triumph.
