Monkey Lyly crawled under the stairs to do this, making her mother laugh.

Lyly, the curious little monkey, was always up to something. Whether it was climbing trees, rummaging through baskets, or peeking into every corner of the house, she had a knack for surprising everyone. But on this sunny afternoon, she took her mischief to a whole new level.

Her mother was sweeping the yard when she noticed Lyly quietly disappearing toward the staircase. Instead of running around as usual, Lyly crouched low and crawled underneath the stairs. Her tiny hands and feet moved carefully, and her tail swished with excitement as if she was on some secret mission.

For a moment, her mother wondered if Lyly had found a lost snack or was hiding something she had stolen. But when she bent down to peek under the stairs, what she saw made her burst into laughter. Lyly wasn’t hiding at all—she was busily arranging a little “nest” from leaves, bits of cloth, and even a couple of her toys. She looked so serious, patting things down and adjusting them like a true decorator.

Once she finished, Lyly sat proudly in the middle of her little hideout, glancing out from under the steps with a cheeky grin. It was clear she had decided this was her new “secret base.” Her mother couldn’t help but laugh again, amused by how determined her daughter was to make the perfect little spot.

When Mom called her to come out, Lyly shook her head and tucked herself in even deeper, as if to say, “Nope, this is my place now!” She sat there for nearly an hour, occasionally popping her head out to check if Mom was still watching, before retreating back into her cozy corner.

From that day forward, whenever Lyly wanted some quiet time—or was feeling extra playful—her mother knew exactly where to look. The little space under the stairs had become Lyly’s favorite hideaway, and every time Mom saw her crawling in there with that mischievous sparkle in her eyes, she couldn’t help but smile. After all, who knew a simple spot under the stairs could bring so much joy and laughter?
