It was a bright, sunny afternoon when Aunt decided to take Monkey Cubis for a walk around the nearby temple garden. The air was warm, the flowers were blooming, and Cubis was in a playful mood, hopping along the stone path with excitement. But little did he know, he was about to meet his unexpected match—koi fish!
As they reached the large koi pond, Cubis leaned over the edge, curious about the glimmering colors swimming below. At first, he just stared, completely mesmerized by their flowing tails and smooth glides. But then, one big orange koi suddenly leapt near the surface with a splash!
Cubis jumped back like a spring! His eyes widened, arms flew up, and he made the funniest little shriek you could imagine. Aunt laughed so hard she almost dropped her phone trying to film him. But Cubis wasn’t done yet. He slowly crept forward again, peeking over the water like a sneaky little spy.
Another koi fish swam close, opening its big mouth as if to say hello. Cubis responded by tapping the water gently with his finger—splash! The koi splashed back, and Cubis flew backward again with a dramatic spin and a face full of shock! His reactions were priceless—like a cartoon character caught in a prank.
Eventually, Cubis got brave. He sat on the edge and started trying to “talk” to the fish, chattering softly while waving his hands. A few koi came close, probably expecting food, and Cubis, proud and confident now, nodded like a king greeting his court.
Aunt gave him a few fish pellets to toss in, and Cubis had the time of his life watching the koi go wild for the treats. By the end of the visit, Cubis was waving goodbye to the fish like they were his new best friends.
Monkey Cubis may have started out spooked, but he ended the day as the fearless “Koi King” of the pond—still making Aunt laugh all the way home.
