The morning sun had barely stretched across the treetops when Monkey Cubis stirred from his cozy blanket nest. He blinked a few times, rubbed his eyes, and then… grrrrrrrr — his stomach made the loudest growl! That was it. He was awake, and he was hungry.
Without wasting a second, Cubis jumped up and started his mission: food! He searched under his pillow, peeked behind his favorite toy box, and even checked the corner where Aunt usually hides snacks. But there was nothing. No banana, no mango slice, not even a crumb of yesterday’s toast. His little monkey face wrinkled in frustration.
He tiptoed through the house, sniffing the air like a detective. “Auntie?” he called softly, poking his head into the kitchen. No answer. That’s when he realized: he’d have to take matters into his own hands.
He dragged over a stool and climbed it with all his monkey strength. Carefully opening the cabinet, he found… peanut butter! Jackpot! But he needed bread. The fridge was next. He pulled it open with all his might and stared inside. Cold air hit his fur, but he was too focused to care. There! Bread and some fresh guava slices.
A few minutes later, Cubis sat proudly at the table, his tiny paws smearing peanut butter onto bread with guava slices stacked on top. It was a mess — peanut butter on his nose, guava on the floor — but to him, it was a masterpiece.
Just then, Aunt walked in, rubbing her eyes. She froze when she saw the kitchen — sticky, chaotic, and full of monkey mischief. But when she saw Cubis happily munching and wagging his tail in delight, she couldn’t help but laugh.
That’s what happens when Monkey Cubis wakes up hungry: chaos, adventure, and a breakfast made with love (and a little too much peanut butter).
