Monkey Lyly had no idea what was happening. All week, her aunt had been packing boxes, folding clothes, and whispering with a big smile. Lyly tried to peek into bags and boxes, but every time she asked, “Where are we going?” her aunt would just wink and say, “You’ll see, sweet girl.”
That morning, Lyly woke up to the sound of car doors and sunlight pouring through the window. Her little heart beat faster with curiosity. “Is today the day?” she asked, hopping into her aunt’s arms. “Yes,” her aunt smiled. “Today’s the big surprise!”
As they drove through the countryside, Lyly’s eyes lit up at every turn. But when they turned down a familiar little road, her mouth fell open. “Wait… this is the road to the yellow house with the garden!” she squealed.
Sure enough, there it was—her favorite house. The cozy yellow cottage with blue window shutters, her favorite swing in the front yard, and the big mango tree she used to climb when they visited once long ago. Lyly gasped, bouncing with joy. “We’re moving HERE?! For real?”
Her aunt laughed and nodded. “Welcome home, Lyly.”
Lyly leaped out of the car and ran through the yard, touching every flower and rock like it was a dream. She swung on the swing, rolled in the grass, and then ran inside to find her toys already placed in her new room. Her little bed was right by the window, just where she had imagined it.
“This is the best day ever!” Lyly shouted, running back to hug her aunt tightly. “Thank you for bringing me here.”
Her aunt wiped away a happy tear. “I knew this was your happy place, and now it’s home.”
Lyly spent the rest of the day exploring, decorating, and celebrating her big surprise. And as the sun set, she looked around, smiled, and whispered, “I’m finally where I belong.”
