It was a quiet afternoon, and Monkey Lyly had curled up in her favorite cozy spot by the window. The sunlight gently warmed her fur, and soon, her little chest rose and fell in a peaceful rhythm. She was out like a light—completely still, breathing softly, her arms wrapped around her favorite blanket.
At first, it was adorable.
But after a while, Mom noticed something odd. No matter how many times she called out, “Lyly… wake up, sweetheart,” the little monkey didn’t stir. No ear twitch. No sleepy yawn. Nothing.
Mom’s playful tone quickly turned into worry. She knelt beside Lyly, gently rubbing her back and whispering softly, “Lyly, come on now, it’s snack time!” Still, Lyly didn’t respond. Her breathing was steady, but the deepness of her sleep sent a wave of anxiety through Mom’s heart.
She tried everything—rustling a banana bag, making her favorite squeaky toy squeal, even brushing her favorite hair comb near her. But Lyly stayed tucked into her blanket, completely unbothered by the world.
Mom’s heart pounded. Was something wrong?
Just as she reached for her phone to call the vet, Lyly let out the tiniest snore—followed by a big, exaggerated yawn. Then, slowly, her eyes blinked open.
She looked up at Mom, blinking in confusion, as if to say, Why are you panicking? I was just dreaming!
Mom gasped, laughed, and cried all at once, scooping her sleepy girl into a warm hug. “You scared me, Lyly!” she whispered, kissing the top of her head.
Lyly yawned again, clinging to Mom’s arm and clearly not ready to fully wake up.
Turns out, Monkey Lyly had just been in the deepest nap of her life—and her peaceful little rest had given Mom the scare of hers!
