After days of worry and restless nights, today brought a small but powerful victoryâChooch finally held his food down. đ For anyone who’s ever loved a sick pet, you know that something as simple as a quiet meal staying in their belly can feel like a miracle.
Itâs been a tough week for our boy. He hadnât been himselfâno energy, no interest in playtime, and most worrying of all, he couldnât keep anything down. Every attempt to feed him ended in heartbreak, watching him try to eat only to become sick soon after. We tried changing his food, giving him bland meals, coaxing him with his favorites, but nothing seemed to help.
Vet visits, tests, medicationâitâs all been a blur. We did everything the professionals advised, but mostly, we just sat with him. Talked to him. Held him. Let him know he wasnât alone. Even in his weakness, Chooch never stopped trying. His eyes stayed full of trust, even when his body couldnât keep up.
Then today⌠something shifted. He ate slowly, cautiously, licking each bite like he wasnât sure he could trust it. We watched with held breath, not daring to hope too much. Minutes passed. Then hours. No vomiting. No signs of distress. Just a tired pup curled up in his favorite blanket, finally able to rest.
He held it down.
It might seem small to some, but to us, itâs everything. It means the medicine might be working. It means his little body is fighting back. It means thereâs light after all the darkness of the past few days.
Weâre not out of the woods yet, but weâre holding on to this moment. Grateful. Hopeful. And so incredibly proud of Chooch for being such a strong, brave boy.
Keep going, Chooch. Youâre doing amazing. đ
