Chooch never had the makings of a varsity athlete 😂

From the moment Chooch took his first awkward leap off the couch, we knew he wasn’t exactly destined for Olympic greatness. His coordination? Questionable. His stamina? Practically nonexistent. His idea of a workout? Chasing his own tail for five seconds before collapsing dramatically on the floor like he’d just finished a marathon. Still, what Chooch lacked in athleticism, he more than made up for in heart—and hilarious attempts.

We once tried to set up a mini obstacle course in the backyard, thinking it would be a fun challenge. The first hurdle? Chooch looked at it, sniffed it, then walked around it like, “Why jump when you can go around?” The tunnel? He got stuck halfway and just decided to take a nap inside. And don’t even get me started on the fetch game. You throw the ball, he looks at it, then looks back at you like, “You threw it, you go get it.”

There was one time we signed him up for a doggy agility class. Big mistake. While other pups zipped through cones and flew over bars, Chooch wandered off to steal treats from another dog’s bag. By the end of class, the instructor gave him a participation ribbon with a laugh and said, “Well, at least he’s consistent!”

But honestly, that’s part of his charm. Chooch doesn’t care about winning or being the best—he just wants to be included, even if he spends most of the time rolling in the grass or making friends on the sidelines. He may not have the makings of a varsity athlete, but he’s definitely MVP of our hearts.

Every stumble, flop, and face-first dive into the water bowl just makes us love him more. Athletic? No. Entertaining? Absolutely. And in the end, isn’t that the real victory? 🏆😂
