The party was over, and the house was filled with balloons, streamers, and empty gift boxes scattered everywhere. But while most would expect a mess to stay for hours, Smart Lala had other plans. With a determined little face and sleeves rolled up, she took a deep breath and got to work—all on her own.
It had been a fun-filled birthday celebration, full of laughter, cake, and surprises. Lala had enjoyed every minute of it. But as the guests left and quiet returned, she noticed how much work needed to be done. Instead of waiting for Mom or Dad to clean up, Lala decided to take charge.
She started with the balloons, gently popping the ones that had deflated and setting aside the ones that could be reused. Then, one by one, she picked up the fallen ribbons and tossed the torn wrapping paper into the recycling bin. The living room slowly began to look normal again.
Next, Lala carefully folded the decorative tablecloth and stacked the leftover paper plates and cups neatly. She wiped down the table and even used a tiny broom to sweep up the cake crumbs on the floor. Her little hands worked quickly, and her heart was full of pride.
When Mom walked in, she was completely surprised. “Lala! Did you do all of this by yourself?” she asked in amazement. Lala beamed and nodded proudly. “I wanted to help, Mommy. I had the best birthday ever, and I wanted to say thank you.”
Mom hugged her tightly and whispered, “You are the smartest and sweetest girl I know.”
That evening, the house was sparkling clean, and Lala felt happy and proud. She didn’t just enjoy her birthday—she showed how thoughtful and responsible she could be. It was a simple act, but it proved just how smart and kind-hearted Lala truly was.
