It was a sunny afternoon, and the air was filled with the gentle hum of cicadas. Cubis Monkey was lounging lazily on the porch when Dad called out, “Hey Cubis! Want to go out for a bit?” Cubis’s eyes lit up instantly. He knew exactly what that meant—milk tea time!
Without hesitation, Cubis leapt into Dad’s arms, tail swaying with excitement. They hopped on the scooter and headed straight to their favorite milk tea spot, the little roadside stall with colorful umbrellas and the friendliest owner who always saved a small cup just for Cubis.
As soon as they arrived, Cubis jumped onto the counter, clapping his little hands. Dad laughed and placed the order: one large taro milk tea for him, and a mini cup of plain milk tea—no ice, no pearls—for his fuzzy companion.
The two found a shady bench nearby. Dad sipped slowly, enjoying the cool sweetness, while Cubis held his tiny cup with both hands, sipping and smacking his lips in pure joy. He even made a happy chirping sound that made the other customers smile.
“Don’t drink too fast!” Dad warned gently. But Cubis, as usual, was too thrilled to listen. A milk tea mustache formed on his face, and he proudly showed it off like a trophy.
For a few minutes, the world seemed to slow down. No rush, no noise—just a dad and his monkey enjoying a simple treat under the warm afternoon sun.
After finishing their drinks, Cubis climbed up on Dad’s shoulder and nuzzled close. The two sat quietly for a while, watching people walk by, sharing that peaceful, contented feeling only milk tea moments can bring.
It wasn’t a grand adventure, but to Cubis and Dad, it was perfect. These little spontaneous moments were what they cherished most—just them, a scooter ride, and the sweet taste of milk tea.
