This Was Last Year and Chooch’s First Time Seeing the Beach ❤️

It was a warm, golden afternoon—the kind of day made for memories. We had planned a little getaway to the coast, not knowing it would become one of the most special days in Chooch’s life. This was last year, and it was Chooch’s very first time seeing the beach.

The moment we stepped out of the car, Chooch’s eyes lit up with wonder. The sound of crashing waves, the scent of salty sea breeze, and the endless stretch of sand left him completely in awe. His tiny feet hesitated at first, unsure of the shifting sand beneath him, but with one gentle nudge, he took off—running, hopping, and squealing with excitement.

Every little thing fascinated him. He chased seagulls that flew just out of reach, pawed at seashells like they were treasures, and let the wind ruffle his fur while he smiled up at the sun. The moment he dipped his feet into the ocean, he leapt back in surprise, then turned and looked at us with the biggest, happiest grin—as if to say, “Did you see that?!”

We spent the whole day exploring. He dug little holes, rolled around in the sand, and even tried to “catch” the foam as it rolled in. The beach became his playground, his discovery, his moment of freedom.

When the sun began to set, painting the sky in soft oranges and pinks, Chooch curled up in a towel, tired but peaceful. He looked out at the waves one last time, eyes wide with wonder, and we knew he had fallen in love with the sea.

Looking back now, that day feels like magic. It was simple, but unforgettable. Watching Chooch experience the ocean for the first time reminded us of how beautiful the world can be through fresh eyes. That was his first beach day—but certainly not the last. ❤️🌊🐾
