Lala had been looking forward to this day all week. She had her little backpack ready, her favorite snacks packed, and even a tiny pink umbrella just in case the sun got too hot. Today was supposed to be her special outing with her best friend, Bon the puppy. They were going to walk around the garden, chase butterflies, and maybe even enjoy a picnic under the old mango tree.
But as she stood by the window, tiny hands pressed against the glass, her heart sank.
The sky had turned gray, and the rain poured down in sheets, pounding the ground and creating puddles that looked more like lakes. Thunder rumbled in the distance, and poor Lala’s ears drooped slightly as she let out a small sigh. Her little face was a picture of disappointment.
Bon sat by the door, tail still wagging gently, but he seemed to sense her mood. He walked over, nuzzling her leg as if to say, “It’s okay, we’ll go another day.” Lala gave him a soft hug, burying her face in his soft fur. The sound of the rain outside seemed louder now, and the soft light inside the house felt even cozier with Bon beside her.
Though the day didn’t go as planned, Lala and Bon still found comfort in each other. They ended up snuggling on the couch with a warm blanket, watching the rain together from the window. Lala even made up a little story about the clouds playing hide-and-seek, which made Bon tilt his head in the cutest way.
Sometimes, even when plans are ruined by the weather, a little love and companionship can turn a gloomy day into a memory worth keeping.
