We Went Back to the Location Where We Met CiCi and Fed Some Dogs…

It had been a few weeks since we first met CiCi—frail, shy, and hiding under a broken bench near the alley. That moment had stuck with us deeply. Her soft eyes, filled with fear and hope, made us realize how many voiceless animals were out there, just waiting for a second chance. After giving CiCi a loving home, we promised ourselves that we’d return—not just to revisit the place where we found her, but to help others still struggling on the streets.

Today, we kept that promise.

As we approached the familiar location, memories came rushing back. The cracked pavement, the old bench, even the scent of grilled corn from the nearby stall—it was all the same. But this time, we weren’t just passing by. We brought bags full of dry food, boiled chicken, clean water, and a lot of love.

Almost immediately, a few dogs began to approach us. At first, they were hesitant, keeping their distance with cautious eyes. But soon, the scent of food and the calmness in our tone began to melt away their fear. One by one, they came closer—some limping, some scarred, but all hungry. A skinny brown pup with ribs visible wagged her tail gently as we placed a bowl in front of her. Another larger black dog barked protectively, then softened when we offered food and kept our distance.

As we fed them, we couldn’t help but wonder: how many of them had a CiCi-like story? How many had been abandoned, born on the street, or left behind? Each one of them deserved more than scraps and shadows.

Before we left, we made a silent vow. This wouldn’t be the last time we returned. Feeding them was only a start—maybe next time, one of them would come home with us, just like CiCi did.

They’re not just strays—they’re souls waiting to be seen.
