Monkey Lyly was having a wonderful day, swinging around and playing near the garden. Earlier in the morning, she had carefully prepared her favorite treat—a batch of banana cookies that she had helped her mom bake. They were soft, sweet, and filled with little bits of dried mango, just the way she liked them. She proudly placed them in her favorite blue container and left them on the kitchen table to cool.
But when Lyly returned to grab a cookie for her afternoon snack, the container was empty. Her big brown eyes widened in disbelief. She stood still, blinking a few times, thinking maybe she had placed them somewhere else. But no, the cookies were definitely gone!
“Who ate my cookies?” she cried out, her little hands on her hips. She searched the room, hoping to find a trail of crumbs or maybe a guilty face nearby. She asked BiBi, who was swinging lazily on the hammock, but he just shrugged. She checked with Pupu, who was busy coloring quietly. Even Poki looked surprised when she questioned him. Everyone claimed they knew nothing.
Lyly felt a mix of confusion and disappointment. She had worked so hard on those cookies, excited to share them later. She sat down sadly, her tail drooping. Just then, a soft crunching sound came from behind the curtain. Lyly tiptoed over and peeked behind it.
To her surprise, there was little Bon with crumbs all over his face, holding the last half of a cookie in his tiny hands! Lyly gasped. “Bon! You ate them all?” Bon gave a sheepish grin and mumbled, “They were yummy…”
Lyly couldn’t help but smile through her frustration. She sighed and said, “Next time, just ask. We could’ve shared.” With that, she gave Bon a hug and decided they would bake another batch—this time, with everyone helping and sharing from the start.
