BiBi Was So Excited to Harvest Starfruit That He Forgot About LaLa

The sun had barely peeked over the horizon when BiBi woke up with a burst of energy. Today was the day he had been waiting for — the starfruit tree was finally ripe! He had talked about it all week, even dreaming about the golden, juicy fruits hanging from the branches. With a small basket in hand and a grin stretching from ear to ear, BiBi dashed outside without a second thought.

He ran straight to the tree behind the house, barely noticing the dew on the grass or the gentle breeze blowing through the leaves. One by one, he carefully picked the ripest fruits, holding each one up to the light before placing it in his basket. The starfruits were perfect — sweet-smelling and glossy, and BiBi couldn’t help but squeal with delight.

But in his excitement, he had forgotten something very important: LaLa.

LaLa had been waiting by the garden gate, just like they had planned the night before. She had even worn her favorite sun hat, ready to help and maybe sneak a few bites. Minutes turned into an hour as LaLa sat patiently, occasionally calling out his name, only to be met with silence.

Finally, when BiBi returned with his overflowing basket, humming joyfully, he was shocked to see LaLa sitting alone, her eyes filled with disappointment. His smile faded instantly.

“Oh no, LaLa… I forgot,” he whispered, guilt washing over him.

LaLa didn’t say much. She simply looked at the basket and then back at BiBi. He quickly handed her the biggest, juiciest starfruit and wrapped her in a tight hug.

“I’m sorry. I got too excited,” he said softly.

LaLa smiled a little and took a bite. “Next time, we harvest together.”

From that day on, BiBi never picked fruit without LaLa by his side — because starfruit tastes even sweeter when shared with someone you love.
