Pupu was hungry and couldn’t find any food, so he went to ask Mom what was going on.

Pupu’s little stomach growled loudly as he searched the house for something to nibble on. He peeked into the kitchen, looked under the table, and even checked the fruit basket, but there was nothing! Not a banana, not even a crumb of biscuit in sight. His face began to pout, his ears drooped, and his tummy let out another loud grrrrr.

Confused and a little worried, Pupu slowly made his way to find Mom. She was in the backyard, carefully hanging clothes on the line under the warm morning sun. “Mom…” Pupu mumbled, tugging gently on her shirt. She turned around with a smile, but it faded quickly when she saw the worried look on her little monkey’s face.

“What’s wrong, sweetie?” she asked softly, kneeling down to meet him eye-to-eye.

“I’m so hungry, Mom,” Pupu whispered, his eyes glossy. “I looked everywhere but there’s no food. Why is there nothing to eat today?”

Mom’s heart ached. She gently pulled Pupu into a warm hug. “I know, Pupu. I went to the market early this morning, but many of the stalls were closed. I was waiting for the food delivery to arrive.”

Pupu nodded slowly, still a bit sad but beginning to understand. Just then, as if on cue, a motorbike horn honked at the front gate—it was the delivery man! Mom rushed to collect the groceries while Pupu excitedly bounced up and down.

In no time, the kitchen filled with the warm aroma of sweet bananas, fresh rice porridge, and a hint of fried tofu. Mom prepared Pupu’s favorite meal and placed it in front of him with a smile. He clapped his hands and dug in happily.

With his tummy full and his heart warm, Pupu leaned back in his chair and said, “Thank you, Mom! I was worried, but you always take care of me.”

Mom gave him a kiss on the forehead and replied, “I always will, my little Pupu.”
