What’s Happening to Lyly??? Monkey Lyly Is Worried When She Wakes Up but Her Mother Is Not Home

Monkey Lyly blinked her sleepy eyes as the early morning sun peeked through the curtains. The room was quiet—too quiet. She sat up slowly, rubbing her little face, and looked around. Something didn’t feel right. Her soft blanket was still wrapped around her legs, but the most important thing was missing—her mother.

“Mom?” Lyly called softly, then louder, “Mommy??”

No answer.

Panic started to rise in her tiny chest. She scrambled off her bed and checked every corner of the room, even peeking under the couch and behind the curtains. But her mother was nowhere to be found. Lyly’s mind started racing. Did she leave without me? Did something bad happen? Why didn’t she wake me up?

She sat on the floor, hugging her stuffed bunny tightly, her big brown eyes full of worry. Normally, her mother would always be there in the morning, brushing her fur, making her breakfast, and giving her a warm hug to start the day. But today felt cold and strange.

Lyly wandered to the door and sat by it, waiting. She looked out the window every few seconds, hoping to see a familiar face walking up the path. Minutes felt like hours.

Just when she was about to cry, the door gently creaked open.

“Mama!!” Lyly squealed, rushing into her mother’s arms.

Her mother knelt down and hugged her tight. “Oh, my sweet Lyly! I’m so sorry, I just went to get some fresh fruit from the market. I didn’t want to wake you—you looked so peaceful.”

Tears welled up in Lyly’s eyes, but this time from relief. “I thought you were gone forever!”

Her mom smiled softly. “I would never leave you, my love.”

Lyly clung to her mother for a long time, her little heart finally calm. She learned something important that day: even if she can’t see her, her mother’s love is always there.
