Sweet little Poki, the playful and cheerful monkey we all adore, has been through a tough time recently. His usually energetic and mischievous self had taken a quiet turn. At first, it was hard to notice—he just seemed a little slower, a bit more tired, not his usual bouncy self. But within days, it became clear something was wrong. He was refusing food, sleeping more than usual, and his curious spark had dimmed.
After a visit to the vet, it was confirmed—Poki had fallen ill with a stomach infection. While it wasn’t life-threatening, it took a toll on his little body. He began losing weight quickly, and it was heartbreaking to see his once round cheeks and plump belly begin to shrink. His caregivers did everything possible: giving him medications, preparing easy-to-digest meals, and keeping him warm and comforted. Even in his weakened state, Poki would try to cuddle and show signs of love, which made his struggle even more touching.
The weight loss made Poki appear fragile, and it reminded everyone just how vulnerable and sensitive animals are, especially those as intelligent and emotionally expressive as monkeys. Every ounce lost felt like a part of his joy slipping away, but his spirit—though dimmed—never disappeared completely.
Thanks to all the love and care he received, Poki is slowly regaining his strength. He’s eating small portions again, and while he’s not fully back to his playful self, his eyes are starting to shine again. He still has a journey ahead to regain the weight and full health, but every tiny step forward is a victory.
We all miss the chubby, cheeky Poki, but what matters most is that he’s fighting through, surrounded by people who love him dearly. Let’s all keep sending love and healing thoughts his way—Poki is a little warrior, and he’s not done making us smile. 💛🐒
