Monkey Lyly had always been a curious and cheerful little monkey, but no one expected what she did one sunny afternoon. Without warning, she gathered a basket full of fruits, flowers, and some handmade leaf crafts, and made her way toward the edge of the forest, where a new animal family had recently moved in.
These newcomers—a shy family of raccoons—had kept mostly to themselves since arriving. Most of the animals in the forest were unsure about them, and the raccoons seemed nervous around everyone. But Lyly didn’t see strangers—she saw new friends.
With a warm smile and her arms full of thoughtful gifts, Lyly knocked (or rather, tapped) on the tree stump where the raccoons had made their home. Startled, the raccoon family peeked out. Lyly cheerfully held out a big mango and said, “Welcome to the neighborhood!”
What happened next surprised everyone. The baby raccoons, who had been hiding behind their mother, slowly stepped out, giggling and sniffing the sweet fruits. Their mother, touched by Lyly’s kindness, invited her in for a quick visit. Soon, laughter echoed from their little home.
Word of Lyly’s visit spread quickly. Inspired by her gesture, the other animals began visiting the raccoons too—bringing food, toys, and smiles. What started as one brave act of kindness turned into a welcoming party that lasted for days.
Lyly didn’t do it for attention—she just followed her heart. But her simple act helped bridge a gap no one else had dared to cross. She reminded everyone that a small gesture of friendship could spark something wonderful.
And so, from that day on, the raccoons felt right at home in the forest. They became part of every game, every celebration, and every shared story. All thanks to Monkey Lyly, who believed that sometimes, the best way to say hello… is with a gift and a smile.
