Pupu the Monkey Stopped Eating When He Saw Poki Was Sick

In the heart of the rainforest, where the trees whispered secrets and the rivers sang lullabies, lived two best friends — Pupu the monkey and Poki the parrot. They did everything together: swinging through trees, splashing in streams, and sharing delicious tropical fruits.

One sunny morning, Pupu was enjoying a ripe banana when he noticed Poki perched quietly on a low branch, his feathers ruffled and his eyes half-closed. Normally, Poki would be chattering away or flying in cheerful loops, but today he barely moved.

“Poki?” Pupu called softly, dropping his banana. “Are you okay?”

Poki gave a weak chirp and tried to smile, but it was clear something was wrong.

Pupu’s stomach twisted. He loved food, especially bananas and sweet mangoes, but suddenly he didn’t feel hungry at all. He climbed up to Poki and gently stroked his wing.

“I won’t eat until you feel better,” Pupu said firmly.

The other animals noticed too. Tiko the toucan flew in with berries. Lulu the lemur brought cool water in a leaf. But Pupu refused to eat any of it. He stayed beside Poki all day and all night, humming little songs and keeping him warm.

On the second morning, Poki opened his eyes a bit wider. “You stayed?” he croaked.

“Of course,” Pupu whispered. “You’re my best friend.”

With the help of his forest friends and Pupu’s care, Poki slowly began to heal. His feathers smoothed out, his colors brightened, and by the fourth day, he gave a cheerful squawk and fluttered his wings.

“I feel better!” he chirped.

Pupu’s eyes lit up, and for the first time in days, he reached for a banana. They laughed, ate, and danced in the trees once more.

From that day on, the animals in the forest remembered the story of Pupu, the monkey who stopped eating—not because he was sick, but because his heart was full of love for his friend.
