Mom… It’s so heavy! Monkey Lyly struggled to carry her old bed to her room to sleep.

It was a cool evening in the jungle village, and little Monkey Lyly had a big plan. She had recently moved into her very own room—her first! Excited to make it feel cozy, she decided to bring her old, familiar bed from the storage hut into her new space. The bed wasn’t very big, but to Lyly’s small arms, it felt like it weighed a ton.

Gripping one side of the wooden frame, she tugged with all her might. “Mom… it’s so heavy!” she huffed, her tail flicking in frustration. Her mom peeked around the corner with a smile. “Do you need help, Lyly?” she asked gently.

“No, I can do it,” Lyly said, determined. She wanted to prove she was big enough now. She braced herself, planted her feet firmly, and tried again. The bed scraped against the floor with a loud creak, barely moving. “Almost… there!” she muttered, sweat forming on her furry forehead.

Halfway across the room, Lyly had to stop and rest. She flopped onto the floor dramatically, arms stretched out. “Why is this bed so heavy?” she groaned.

Her mom came over and sat beside her. “Sometimes, doing things on your own is hard. But it’s okay to ask for help too,” she said softly.

Lyly thought for a moment, then smiled. “Okay, Mom. Maybe we can do it together?”

With a nod, they both took a side of the bed. Slowly but surely, they carried it across the room. When it was finally in place, Lyly beamed with pride. “We did it!”

That night, Lyly curled up in her old bed, surrounded by her favorite blankets and toys. It felt just right. She realized that even when something feels heavy—like beds, or responsibilities—things are easier when you let someone lend a hand.

As she drifted off to sleep, Lyly whispered, “Thanks, Mom.” Her mom kissed her forehead and whispered back, “Anytime, my little monkey.”
