It was a sunny Friday afternoon when Pupu decided to surprise her best friend, MUN, at school. The final bell had just rung, and students poured out of classrooms, laughing and chatting about their weekend plans. Pupu stood near the front gate, wearing sunglasses and holding two ice-cold lemonades. She waved excitedly when she spotted MUN walking out of the building with her backpack slung over one shoulder.
“MUN!” Pupu called out. MUN’s face lit up the moment she saw her. “You didn’t tell me you were coming!” MUN said with a grin, accepting one of the lemonades. “I thought we were hanging out tomorrow!”
Pupu smiled and replied, “Change of plans! It’s way too beautiful out today. Let’s go to the beach!”
The two friends hopped onto Pupu’s scooter and rode toward the coast, wind blowing through their hair and music playing from a tiny speaker. Within minutes, the city melted away behind them, replaced by the salty breeze and the sound of waves crashing.
At the beach, they kicked off their shoes and ran straight into the water, laughing as the cold waves splashed against their legs. After swimming and splashing around, they spread out a blanket and sat in the sun, eating snacks and watching the clouds drift by.
They talked about everything—school, dreams, crushes, and silly memories. Time seemed to pause for a little while. The afternoon sun turned golden, casting a warm glow on the ocean and making the moment feel magical.
Before they left, they built a sandcastle with towers and a moat, leaving a little flag made of a stick and a leaf at the top. “For adventures and friendship,” MUN said, planting it proudly.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, Pupu and MUN walked back to the scooter, sandy and happy. It had been a simple day, but one they would always remember.
