Mom Found Poki Monkey Broke the Egg and How She Handled It

One sunny morning in the jungle treehouse, Mom was busy preparing breakfast. She had just stepped out to pick fresh bananas when Poki, the curious little monkey, spotted a shiny egg on the kitchen counter.

“Oooh, what’s this?” Poki wondered, his eyes wide. “Is it a toy? A drum? A snack?”

Without thinking, he picked it up, gave it a shake, and—CRACK!

The egg slipped from his paws and splattered all over the floor. Poki gasped. Yolk and shell were everywhere.

Just then, Mom walked back in. She paused, looked at the mess, then at Poki—who froze with wide, guilty eyes.

“Poki,” Mom said calmly, “what happened here?”

Poki lowered his head and said in a tiny voice, “I was just curious… I didn’t mean to break it.”

Instead of yelling or scolding, Mom knelt down, gently wiped some egg off his fur, and said, “Accidents happen, especially when we’re learning. But when we make a mess, we clean it up.”

Poki looked surprised. “You’re not mad?”

Mom smiled. “I’m a little disappointed because that was our last egg. But I’m proud you told the truth.”

Together, they cleaned the sticky mess with leaves and warm water. Poki learned how to sweep up the shell and scrub the floor.

When they were done, Mom said, “Next time, if you’re curious about something, ask me first. We can explore it together.”

Poki nodded. “I will, I promise!”

To cheer him up, Mom made banana pancakes instead, and even let Poki mash the bananas with his feet—after washing them, of course!

That day, Poki didn’t just learn about eggs. He learned about honesty, responsibility, and how patience and kindness can turn a mistake into a lesson.

From then on, Poki always asked before touching anything new. And Mom? She always kept an extra egg… just in case.
