The morning sun filtered gently through the treetops as Pupu and his father arrived at the edge of the forest. It was Pupu’s first time going deep into the woods, and though he loved adventures, today was different. Today, a large, rumbling excavator stood at the entrance, its metal arms looming like a sleeping beast. The forest, usually quiet and welcoming, now echoed with the clanking and growling of the machine.
Pupu clutched his father’s hand tightly. “Papa, I don’t want to go. That thing is scary,” he whispered, eyes wide and filled with worry.
His father knelt beside him, resting a gentle hand on his shoulder. “I know it looks scary, Pupu. But that excavator is just a machine. It helps clear the old paths and build safe trails for us to walk on.”
“But it’s so big and loud,” Pupu said, backing away.
His father smiled. “Big doesn’t mean bad. Do you remember how you used to be scared of the vacuum cleaner?”
Pupu nodded slowly.
“But now you know it’s just a tool. The excavator is the same. It’s here to help, not to hurt.”
Pupu looked at the machine again. This time, he noticed the man sitting in the cabin, waving with a friendly grin. The engine hummed softly now, no longer growling. His father squeezed his hand. “I’ll be right here with you the whole time.”
Taking a deep breath, Pupu nodded. “Okay, Papa.”
Step by step, they approached the excavator. As they passed it, Pupu kept glancing back but felt braver with each step. Soon, the forest opened up ahead of them, peaceful and green, the sounds of the excavator fading behind.
“See?” his father said. “Sometimes, what scares us at first is just something we don’t understand yet.”
Pupu smiled. “I’m glad you came with me.”
Together, hand in hand, they disappeared into the trees, the forest welcoming them with quiet rustling leaves.
